Core Diesel’s Grand Opening: A New Workshop, New Capabilities and a Massive Fraser Coast Sendoff
On 29 May 2026, Core Diesel threw open the doors of our brand new workshop at 1 Phillip Court, St Helens and the Fraser Coast showed up in a big way.
From 6am the carpark started filling. By the time we wrapped up at 10am, we had welcomed more people through the doors than we honestly expected. The support from the local community, our customers, and the businesses who came down to back us genuinely exceeded all expectations.
Here is what the day was about and what it means for diesel owners across Maryborough, Hervey Bay, and the wider Fraser Coast.
A New Workshop Built to Go Further
The move to St Helens was not just about more space -it was about building a facility that could actually deliver on everything we want to offer.
Our previous setup had limits. The new workshop removes them. More capability, more equipment, and more services all under one roof. That is what the Open Day was designed to show people, and the workshop tours made it pretty clear.
People were blown away by the size and what is inside it. We heard that a lot on the day.
What Is Now Available at Core Diesel
The new facility lets us deliver a full range of diesel services for vehicles from 4WDs and American trucks right through to fleet trucks and heavy machinery. Here is what we are now running under one roof:
- Wheel alignments on all vehicles
- Diagnostics, tyre balancing
- NHVR Brake Testing
- Safe-T-Stop testing
- ADAS calibrations
- Dyno tuning and ECU remapping
- In-house DPF cleaning
- Servicing and repairs
- Heavy vehicle capability
- Fleet maintenance
The DPF cleaning capability in particular is worth calling out – we invested in the Hydro DCS-20 Pro machine specifically for this facility. It is the kind of equipment that means blocked DPFs can now be cleaned properly on-site rather than sent away or replaced outright. That is a significant change for diesel owners across the region.
The Support on the Day
It would not have been the day it was without the people who came out to back us.
A big thank you to MP, John Barounis, for officially opening the new premises and cutting the ribbon. The Fraser Coast Regional Council also came down to support the official opening, which meant a lot to the team.
Triple M Fraser Coast came out to broadcast live from the workshop from 6am to 9am, which helped bring plenty of people through the gates early.
Our suppliers and business partners were out in force – Method Wheels, BAJA Designs, BOA Hydraulics, Precision Hydraulics, Chase The Light Photography all made the effort to be there. Having that kind of local business support on the day was something we are genuinely grateful for.
The Giveaways
We ran two giveaways on the day.
The 4×4 Dyno Tune giveaway was won by Cobie K – congratulations, we look forward to showing you what your 4×4 can do on the dyno.
The Lucky Door prize was won by Craig R, an ECU Remapping and Dyno Tune. Craig’s comment said it all: looking forward to seeing the difference it will make on his 79 Series. So are we.
What Is Next
This is only the beginning, as we said on the day. The new workshop gives us the platform to keep growing, and we will be running more events and demos in the future.
If you missed the Open Day but want to see what the new facility looks like, come in and say hello. The workshop tours were obviously a highlight – we are happy to show you around.
And if you have been putting off a service, a DPF clean, a wheel alignment, or a dyno tune, now is a good time to book in. The new facility is fully operational, and the team is ready.
