Heavy Vehicle Testing · NHVR Compliant

Brake Test Shaker for
Heavy Vehicles

Professional roller brake testing and suspension play detection for trucks, trailers, prime movers, and heavy machinery. NHVR-compliant results. The only workshop in the Fraser Coast and Wide Bay with this equipment.

Brakes That Feel Fine Can Still Be Out of Compliance

Side-to-side imbalance, worn components, or steering play that is not obvious during normal driving can all become problems under a roadworthy inspection or NHVR audit. The Levanta roller brake tester measures actual brake force at each wheel and across axles, giving you a factual picture of performance before it becomes a compliance issue or a safety risk.

Paired with the shaker plate, we also detect play in suspension and steering components -- the kind of wear that visual inspection alone cannot identify reliably.

Built for Anyone Running Heavy Vehicles

Fleet Operators and Transport Companies

Scheduled brake testing is the most effective way to stay ahead of NHVR compliance requirements and avoid costly roadside defect notices. Regular testing also extends brake component life by catching imbalance early.

Owner-Operators and Truck Owners

If you are running a truck for work, a brake test before a long haul, a roadworthy, or a registration check is a straightforward way to confirm your vehicle is performing correctly.

Trailer Owners

Trailer brake performance degrades over time and is often the last thing checked. We can test trailer brakes to confirm they are within safe and legal limits.

Pre-Purchase Inspections

Buying a used truck or heavy vehicle? A brake and suspension check before you commit is a straightforward way to know what you are buying.

What to Expect

1

Drive Over the Roller Platform

We guide your vehicle onto the Levanta BM20200. Each axle is tested individually as the rollers spin up to operating speed. No need to lift the vehicle or remove wheels.

2

Brake Force Measurement

The system records brake force at each wheel, calculates side-to-side balance, and flags any axle that is outside safe tolerances. Results are immediate.

3

Shaker Plate Test

The vehicle is positioned on the BM53000 play detector. The platform shakes at set frequencies to reveal any movement in suspension joints, steering components, or wheel bearings.

4

Results and Advice

We walk you through what was found. If everything is within tolerance, you leave with confidence. If there are issues, we advise on what needs attention and can carry out repairs on-site.

Frequently Asked Questions

What vehicles can be tested?

The Levanta BM20200 handles axle loads up to 20,000 kg, covering most trucks, prime movers, trailers, and heavy machinery. Speak to us if you are unsure whether your vehicle is suitable.

Is this an NHVR-approved test?

The Levanta BM20200 is NHVR-compliant equipment. Speak to us about your specific compliance requirements and we can advise on what the test covers for your situation.

Can you test trailers separately?

Yes. Trailer axles can be tested independently of the prime mover to confirm brake performance across the full combination.

How long does the test take?

Testing time depends on the number of axles, but most single-vehicle tests are completed in under 30 minutes. We will give you a time estimate when you book.

Can you carry out repairs on the same day?

In many cases yes, depending on what is found and parts availability. We will let you know when you bring the vehicle in.

Is this the same as the Safe-T-Stop test?

No. The Safe-T-Stop machine is for light vehicles -- cars, utes, vans, and light commercials. The Levanta roller brake tester and shaker plate are heavy vehicle equipment with significantly higher load capacity and NHVR compliance. Both are available at Core Diesel.
