Diesel Protection Pre-Filter Kits / Oil Catch Cans
Diesel Pre-Filter Kits
Late-model common rail diesel engines can struggle with emulsified water. If the engine suffers from water contamination your 4×4 may experience a decrease in power, blow black smoke or run very poorly. Diesel pre-filter kits can help avoid these issues.
With the high pressures and fine tolerances involved in today’s Common Rail diesel engines, the cleanliness of fuel has become increasingly important. Water is one of the leading causes of injector and fuel pump failures in Common Rail systems. Water reduces lubrication which causes fuel parts to wear, corrode and rust from inside the fuel system components creating a breeding ground for bacteria and creating a dirty sludge, contaminating your diesel fuel.
Installing a pre-filter kit between the fuel tank and the O.E.M fuel filter will remove the majority of water and particle contamination. This leaves the O.E.M fuel filter to do the final and finer filtration. This ensures you are maximising the protection of your diesel fuel system to avoid expensive repair bills.
The pre-filter system is designed for use in 4WD, truck, automotive, heavy equipment, marine, industrial and agricultural diesel. The completely modular system has interchangeable components that can be added or removed easily and independently.
- Reduce wear & tear and avoid expensive repair costs
- 95% water separation and superior particle removal
- Clear water drainage bowl to easily identify removed water
- Keeps critical engine components clean
- No filter bypass –contaminated fuel will not be sent to the fuel system
- Ability to separate water from fuel
Oil Catch Cans
Modern diesel emissions systems are required to return internal fumes from the top of the crankcase and back to the air intake system. This air often has tiny droplets of oil called Blow-by, and over time accumulate clogging up the Air Intake Manifolds, Intercoolers and Turbo Chargers, generally reducing the performance of your vehicle.EGR Valves & Coolers are also affected turning the normally dry carbon or soot into a sludgy tar-like substance again slowly reducing the performance and economy of your vehicle over time.
Removing the deposits involves disassembly of the intake system from the engine, both time consuming and expensive. By installing an Oil Mist Separator, often called a Catch Can, the oil mist and water vapour are substantially removed from the combination thereby taking away the ingredient that allows the soot to stick. The result is that the build-up of deposits is GREATLY reduced.
Provent 200 –Oil separator is separating around 98% of contaminates, The Provent 200 is also fitted with an integrated safety valve to guard against irregular crankcase pressure.
- Reduces deposits forming in the air intake
- Prevents costly repair
- Maintain engine performance
- Critical engine components kept clean
- Oil build up in intercoolers is prevented
- Fully serviceable unit replacement filter
